Welcome Parents and Caregivers
We are delighted that you are considering enrolling your son/daughter at Macleans Primary School.
Throughout the web site you will find a range of information about our school.
- Macleans Primary School is governed by an enrolment scheme - enrolment options will depend upon a child's usual residential address.
- Children may only attend school on or after their fifth birthday.
- Application for enrolment, for children in Year 1-6, may be made at any age.
- The enrolment form, available online below or with the prospectus, must be completed for all children, enrolling whether they are turning five, transferring from another New Zealand school or immigrating to New Zealand.
- Stationery packs are available through Qizzle (see link under parent information) from December through to week 2 of term 1. After this please purchase your stationery through the school office.
Macleans Primary School is proud to offer a pre-school programme for 4 year old children that promotes the transition of pre-school children into the primary school setting.
2024 Information Afternoons 2 - 2.45pm:
Tuesday 27th February
Tuesday 14th May
Tuesday 23rd July
Tuesday 10th September
Tuesday 22nd October
Tuesday 26th November
You are invited to attend the Information Afternoon prior to your child starting school. The Deputy Principal, Mrs Angelique Wendzich will share the key features of the New Entrant programme and organisation, introduce the New Entrant teachers and answer any questions that you may have.
You can also be taken on a tour around our warm and vibrant school environment.
We have open mornings every Tuesday from 9.00 a.m.-10.30 a.m. for children who will be starting school.
New Entrant Visits provide the opportunity for children to familiarise themselves with the school and classroom environment, begin to understand classroom routines and expectations and get to know the other students.
A parent or caregiver must accompany each child to the New Entrant visit and remain with the child throughout the morning. This will enable you to support your child in their transition to school as well as providing an opportunity for the teacher to explain class organisation in greater detail. Unfortunately we are not able to cater for younger brothers or sisters. We would ask you to make alternative arrangements for their care.
The children are welcome to bring morning tea and join the other children for morning interval.
Please book your child's New Entrant visits at the school office.

You are welcome to enrol your child at any stage prior to their fifth birthday. We would appreciate having enrolment forms completed and stationery paid for on the day of the pre-entry visit that you attend. This will enable the teacher to have everything ready for your child's first day at school.
These are readily available from the School Office and give a full explanation of school organisation, routines and uniform requirements.
Please report to the School Office before taking your child to the classroom.
New entrants finish school at 3.00 p.m. from their first day at school. Should you find that your child is becoming very tired in the first month of school you are welcome to make arrangements with the teacher to collect them a little earlier until they have adjusted to school routines.
We are looking forward to having your child at Macleans Primary and look forward to a long and happy association with you.
